[Need Ideas?] Valentine’s Day in D.C. *Updated*

By DC Fab • February 7th, 2010

I don’t know about you but I’m excited about the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday (probably because I have a Valentine). Still, if you’re spending the holiday with your boo, your girls or even your boys, DC Fab! has some suggestions for you. From parties to daytime activities like ice skating, spend your Valentine’s Day with some sweet fun!

For you and your boo:

Nothing says “Happy Valentine’s Day” than a good meal or maybe I’m a fat kid. D.C.’s best restaurants are offering special Valentine’s day themed cocktails, dinners plus all the fixings to have you date thinking you planned it all. At Darlington House (1610 20th Street NW) a special aphrodisiac-inspired a-la-carte menu (featuring heart-shaped red-beet-and-goat-cheese ravioli and a molten chocolate cake dessert) in addition to its regular menu will be served. Also complimentary roses and chocolate-covered strawberries are served at dinner.

For you and the girls:

Head to Busboys and Poets for their Valentine’s Day “Pajama Brunch” featuring raspberry heart-shaped pancakes on Feb. 14. From 9-3 p.m. all locations will be serving this special V-day meal.

For you and the kiddies:

Enjoy the late winter weather in D.C. outdoor ice skating rink, The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden’s ice-skating rink (7th Street and Constitution Avenue NW). A favorite winter destination, try out your blades with tourists and lovers alike while being surrounded by extraordinary sculptures by renowned modern and contemporary art. On Valentine’s day, the rink is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m

For my party people:

Steve Francis and Taz Events are throwing a Valentine’s Day Dinner Party at Gallery Restaurant & Lounge (1115 East West Highway, Silver Spring, MD) on the big day. With music by DJ Trini and Familiar Faces the party goes from dinner to dancing. Tickets are $25 in advance but for $150, you and your…well whoever will get a full course meal and bottle of wine. 6 p.m. - 2 a.m.

The 3rd Annual Groove Is In The Heart Valentines Soiree is going down at Muse Lounge (717 6th St. NW). Doors open at 10 p.m. but the party goes until 3 a.m. Admission is free before 11 p.m.
