Recap: Lupe Fiasco Stopped by GWU; Admits He Isn’t An Obama Supporter
By DC Fab • November 17th, 2009
Last week, rapper Lupe Fiasco along with director Chris Moore stopped by George Washington University to promote the film The People Speak: Democracy Is Not a Spectator Sport.
The movie, which started filming during Bush’s presidency, attempts to motivate young people to become more active in politics.
Interestingly enough, Lupe, responding to a question stated that he wasn’t an Obama supporter and didn’t believe in the two-party system of American government. Lupe also performed a speech from Muhammad Ali discussing his feelings toward the Vietnam draft for the large audience of students.

if he doesn’t believe in our system
how is he supporting a film on democracy?

I’m a Lupe stan, so in light of his sometimes semi-idiotic political ranting, I’ll take up for my dude and say maybe he feels like the 2 party system doesn’t rep for everyone in the right fashion.
Thus he’s supporting this film, which–I’m guessing from the title–is encouraging folks to get off the couch and agitate for the change they’d like to see in the system.
