Recap: The Obamas Weren’t the Only Ones at the Miley Cyrus Concert
By DC Fab • November 4th, 2009
Last night at the Verizon Center was a concert that so many young girls have been waiting since June 18th when the tickets were released on sale for: it was the Miley Cyrus Concert.
The show opened with her brother, Trey Cyrus, the lead member of his band Metro Station, who got the crowd fired up for Miley. As the crowd waited for the young girl that they came to see, they were able to text message each other and send birthday wishes via text for all to see on the large screens on the stage.
Miley’s set opened with her busting out of a large ice sculpture, followed by an hour and a half of her greatest hits from her latest albums including “Party in the USA” and “Climb.”
A few surprises of the evening: Miley did a dance tribute to Michael Jackson and performed “Thriller” for the crowd. She was also suspended above the crowds several times and even rode a Harley Davidson motorcycle above the crowd suspended from a cable system. Screams could be heard for blocks around the Verizon Center.
The special treat was not just watching Miley Cyrus but as we sat in our suite enjoying this concert, a few doors down, the Obamas: Michelle, Sasha and Malia also enjoyed the show.
