Recap: ART BUZZ Remix at Coco Sala

By DC Fab • October 20th, 2009

In a great location with an even better cause, ART BUZZ remix went down last night at one of my favorite restaurant/lounges, Coco Sala. The night was all to raise much needed funds for the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative‘s Arts for Every Student Program, that provides DC schools with access to arts and cultural opportunities throughout the Washington metropolitan area.

The evening was enhanced by Coco Sala‘s chic atmosphere and great conversation. Of course talk about Michelle Rhee‘s recent teacher cuts came up and how it affected schools and students in the DC area. Still, all were optimistic that arts and cultural programs for students would continue and were vital for student’s education. I couldn’t agree more, being that I was a dancer for more than 13 years!

The evening also included a video art installation by one of DC’s most talented digital gurus Juan Rojo who showed simple, every day activities like eating or brushing your hair in repetition. You may say it sounds mundane but it’s actually fascinating!

Kudos to Jade and the great people at the DC Collaborative!
