Real Housewives of D.C. Revealed

I’m not sure if it’s because of Obama or because the District suddenly became noticeable but reality television shows are popping up everywhere. Apparently, The “Real Housewives of D.C.” is set to begin taping on Friday.
Folks over at Bravo won’t confirm the date (the series is still in development) nor any of the rumored housewives. Still, sources say McLean socialite and founder of Lables for Love Mary Amons and Lynda Erkiletian (who looks freakishly like the Real Housewife of New Jersey Danielle), owner of THE Artist Agency, one of D.C.’s top modeling agencies.

*Updated*: If I had to pick the housewives, my cast would definitely include Michelle Obama, Michelle Fenty, and Rima Al-Sabah. Got anyone you’d like to see on the show?

I am still trying to figure out how Kim from RHOA is considered a housewife. They need to change the title of these shows. Why the hell does someone that does not work need an assistant and a babysitter?
Don’t tell me there will not be 1 Sister up on this show when DC is known as “Chocolate City”. U mean to tell me there are no Black socialites in this city?
Not that I could care, but when was McLean, VA considered DC? McLean? A Socialite that lives in McLean? LOL….Yeah, ok.

McLean is part of the DC metro, that just like saying Largo isnt part of the DC metro. Is just as close if not closer to DC then Largo.
But the ladies from RHOA dont even live in Atlanta, they about 45 mins north of the city. And you know they aint gonna have no sisters on this show. DC might be multi-culture in a sense but rich black folks dont hang out with rich folks, well atleast the majority.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I called cities like that the Suburbs of DC. I live in Arlington and depending on whiom I am chatting with, I will say I live in DC from to time to time just so I don’t get that “where is that?” look.
I sense a Real Housewives of Chicago, Bmore, Houston, Miami occurring down the road.

I was about to say the same thing…Mclean is ground zero for socialites in this area. Debutante cotillions, balls, finishing schools, the whole 9. Mclean is actually inside the beltway, and much closer to downtown than Ft. Wash or Upper Marlboro. And there’s REAL, OLD money in Mclean unlike nouveau-riche Buppieville PG county lol.

My roomate works at a hotel in DC, and I have heard that Friday is the first day of filming at their hotel. They are actually filming some big horse polo game going on in DC and Obama is going to it also she said. Anyone have info? Please share.

These 2 women are the one’s they picked? Let’s hope it get’s better. No Style here so far. Red lipstick and orange blush on the modeling agency owner - bad styling . Too old for all the ruffles and pearls. No wonder DC has a bad rap. The other lady…………stripes and dangles - no. Way to busy! DC - come on! You can do better - 3 more to go…………..let’s hope one looks good.

Heres the deal I found out confirmed from my contact at the Hotel they have been filming one houswife. Her last name is Salahi. Its called the Hotel Fairfax, and they are for sure filming at a polo match in DC. when I googled it, this is what comes up. http://dc.about.com/od/specialevents/a/AmPoloCup.htm

That would be Michaele Salahi. Her husband is actually the chair of America’s Polo Cup, which is why it would make perfect sense to film there.

Especially if not ONE person of color is featured

Jaci Reid (not just a DC socialite, but international, and a ‘woman of color’) was asked to be on the show and she politely declined.
A true blue socialite would never in a million years do a show like this. Tacky, tacky.

I can’t believe they couldn’t find any African-American females to be on this train wreck, considering the last time I checked, this city IS still predominately African-American. It’s a good thing-we don’t want to look foolish. We’ll leave that to the Virginians!!
