Mini Recap: Sundays at Stir Lounge
By DC Fab • April 6th, 2009
A fellow socialite, Tiffany P. (I see her all the time!), stopped by the grand opening of Stir Lounge (the old IndeBlue; 705 G Street NW) last Sunday. According to her it was a big ole’ mess. Peep her mini recap:
I thought they must have something really special going on in there [because] they pulled out the red carpet, the backdrop, the bright spotlight; it was the grand opening. Very nice right? Wrong.
While we were standing outside at the rope (mind you it was only four other people outside) the manager proceeds to talk to his staff about how tonight it’s all about customer service [plus] we’re having ballers in here today. I heard [another manager] say they were not going to honor the guest list and I said hold up (but only in my mind).
I walked over and asked were they going to allow people on the guest list to still get in before 11 p.m. and they were like, “Miss, there is no guestlist. We have five people on the guestlist. The promoters from Indeblue no longer work for us. We are new management; things have changed.” But he said this all with an attitude! What happened to the customer service he [had] just preached to his staff about?!
By 10:30 p.m., I told my friend let’s go [because] we were not paying to get into this bullsh!t that is making us wait for no reason outside and the manger is rude and smart in the mouth.
Later on around 12:30 p.m. I dropped my friend off at his car and the line to Stir Lounge was wrapped around the corner near Ruby Tuesday’s.
Later on I text my friend to tell him about the service outside and… he promised me next week will be better…I was disappointed in how the guy was speaking to me, how they were not ready to open up on time … It took away from the relax lounge experience and everyone working the door was so confused… no one made eye contact [and] they were rude. I have no idea what customer service they were speaking of but it was not there definitely not at the door.
I received the Infinity Entertainment promotional materials for Stir Lounge that advertised appearances by Stephon Heyer, DeShawn Stevenson and Washington Redskins. Well, if you got inside, tell me how it was! I hate partying on Sundays…it’s the Lord’s day!

That’s wack. I won’t be going there. It’s always the guys who got picked on in high school that end up working club doors…ASSHOLES!
